The Facts Matter project was highlighted during an Oireachtas Joint Committee on Education and Youth discussion on EU/Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development Education on 6th May.
Delivered in partnership between 80:20 Educating and Acting for a Better World and National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA), Facts Matter focuses on strengthening media literacy, critical thinking and informed engagement with digital information among adult learners.
The discussion highlighted the growing need for educational approaches that help people navigate misinformation, understand complex global issues and participate actively in democratic life. 80:20 appreciates the recognition from IDEA – Irish Development Education Association and the continued efforts of educators, civil society organisations and policymakers committed to strengthening Global Citizenship Education and lifelong learning in Ireland.
